Manager, Pricing Strategy

The purpose of this position is to lead the pricing strategy for Volvo and Mack parts (US and Canada markets). This includes the overall pricing strategy in terms of portfolio segmentation, development of pricing methods, price optimization initiatives and competitive intelligence to ensure our competitiveness and support revenue/profit goals.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing strategy and publication
Establish pricing strategies for Mack and Volvo parts that support revenue and drive profitability for the Parts business:
  • Drive pricing segment reviews through cross-functional team (Pricing, Marketing, Purchasing, Sales)
  • Lead the level of price realization and follow up on pricing KPIs vs business plan
  • Manage the portfolio segmentation. Recommend price methods development and optimization
  • Release bi-annual price books for dealers / fleet and manage dealer and field sales inquiries on published pricing
  • Develop and maintain price discount structures that meet Volvo and Mack business plan price realization targets
Manage the competitive intelligence process in US and Canada to assure the competitiveness of both Volvo and Mack brands and take appropriate pricing actions.
Pricing analytics:
Provide a high level of analytics to facilitate Pricing decisions but also ad’hoc analytics for Sales/Marketing. Provide detail analysis on product margins. Identify areas within product groups to achieve the price realization and find opportunities.
Pricing systems:
  • Leverage PROS pricing system in term of pricing and analytics
  • Input the IT roadmap for new pricing systems and pricing systems enhancements. Ensure system plans support global strategies and Pricing vision
  • Manage database development for parts pricing systems. Ensure databases meet requirements to manage both Volvo and Mack proprietary, as well as vendor brand parts product groups
  • Management / Leadership:
  • Manage / Develop / Coach a team of 7 Pricing analysts. Ability to drive change management
  • Serve in the Parts Leadership Management Team
  • -Participate in global product and systems project meetings. Coordinate activities with Parts Sales and Marketing but also Group Truck Operations/Group Truck Technology.

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field.
  • MBA preferred
Required Experience and Knowledge:
  • 5 years Industry Experience
  • Previous experience leading a team preferred

Occasional travel required
